Greetings Coastmasters,

Today’s meeting was our special annual meeting shared with San Juan Capistrano Boys & Girls Club, Keystone Youth Leaders. The program this year was run by CW Gruenig, with myself as assistant. CW was also our Toastmaster for today, and led us through a very successful meeting.

Our three speakers today were the brave volunteers from the Youth Leadership group: Kaila Nakano, Daniel Guerra and Marizta Garcia who shared their experience in Keystone, the Boys and Girls Club and also in Toastmasters. Kaila won best speech for her amazing performance. Well done Kaila!!

Table Topics today were co-hosted by Michele Reed and myself, as we got both young and older adults involved in the theme of celebrating milestones. For his clever, charming response Christian Lepe-Mendoza was awarded best Table Topics.

The Evaluations today were handled by three of our best: Tracey Fullenkamp, Don Benton, and Brenda Johnson. Each of them gave encouragement and words of wisdom to our three young brave speakers. For a job well done, Don was awarded best Evaluator. A great effort for his first time up to evaluate!

This weekend on Saturday December 14th, we will have our Coastmasters Christmas Event, hosted by Michael and Patti Whelan at their home. The start time is 4pm, with a finish around 8pm. Please remember to bring a plate of something delicious to eat, or something to drink along with you. The evite is available online if anyone is still yet to RSVP.

Next week will be our final meeting for the year, so it would be great to see as many Coasties attend as possible. 2013 has been a hugely successful year for our club, and it will be great to finish with one last hurrah.

As a final note, I would like to thank Linda Denton for her hard work and diligence in her role as VP of Education over the past year and a half. She has handled the role expertly and kept us all in line, and striving towards reaching our goals. Michele Reed will be taking over the role as of next week, and we will always be grateful for the efforts of Linda. (And we look forward to hearing about your travel experiences when you return in 2014.)

See you on Saturday, or next week at the meeting.
