Greetings Coastmasters,

This week’s meeting was led by first time Toastmaster Paul Javahari, aka ‘Super Freak’. He led the meeting dressed in his bright red wig, and matching velvet pants. An exciting time was had by all members and our many visiting guests.

Our Table Topics Master Leonard Syzmczak gave us a chance to be tricked or treated. Each table topics person came to the front and gave us their version of halloween while in costume. Our newest members Ryan, Stacey, Paul and Robert all got a taste of the zany experience that is Coastmasters. Best Table Topics went to James ‘Scarface’ Fullenkamp for his story about Halloween costume hijinks.

Our two speakers today were Michele Reed and Linda ‘Catwoman’ Denton. Michele shared with us her experience as a member of Toastmasters World Headquarters team, and the history of Toastmasters. Linda gave us a story about her experience managing mysterious packages in the parking lot. Linda was awarded Best Speaker for her tale of intrigue.

Our evaluations today were by Joan Weisman, and Chuck ‘Soupy’ Schwartz. Both delivered great feedback and encouragement. Chuck was awarded Best Evaluator, for a job well done.

(Seeing as James, Linda and Chuck declined to be photographed, I made this arists’ rendition of them)

As you all know our past president Leonard won the Division G Tall Tales contest this past Saturday. He defeated Area champions from 5 other Areas, and became the Division G Champion. Next weekend, he will compete for the big one: The Founder’s District Tall Tales competition. He is competing at 3pm on the afternoon, and if you can come along to support, you can attend the competition for $20. Here is a link to the information page:

Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween, and I will see you all again next week.
