Greetings Coastmasters,

This week’s meeting theme was “Competition”  and our Toastmaster Michele Reed had us all bringing our A game to the table.

Table Topics this week was handled by Brad Smith, who had some excellent questions and ideas to ponder, and Dave DuRee was awarded Best Table Topics.

Our speakers this week were of the usual championship quality, with Edward Dauod giving us his Icebreaker speech about his journey from his homeland of Egypt, via Canada to the USA. Don Benton shared the story of ‘Uncle Phil’ and the Oregon Ducks football team. And finally CW Gruenig gave us an advanced speech fielding questions from a disgruntled PTA committee. For his expert answers and graceful manner, CW was awarded Best Speaker.

Our evaluators this week were Leonard Szycmzak, Dr Brad Shapiro and our Division G Governor Gwen Earle. All did an excellent job, and Leonard won best Evaluator.

Next week will be our Tall Tales and Evaluation contest, so come along to hear your fellow club members share some fun, highly exaggerated stories, and give some excellent feedback.

Have a wonderful week,

Daniel Midson-Short
Coastmasters Club President
